Without evidence I do lean toward Grusch either being a grifter or mentally ill (possibly some combination)...but even if nothing could be reversed engineered there would be very good reasons to keep it a secret. [Consider the religious foundation of many nations, and how knowledge of alien craft could be destabilizing for example.]

However, given the lack of evidence, I think we can just say there isn't a clear reason to accept the US gov't has alien tech from downed aircraft at this time.

Imagine how it could unite everybody on earth learning we are not alone in the Universe.

Perhaps, but the reaction would be varied and possibly destabilizing.

If - and without evidence it's admittedly hypothetical - there were remains of alien technology I don't see many governments being willing to disclose that information.

The Manhattan Project was leaked. Any 'hypothetical' alien technology project would also be guaranteed to leak, especially in an era with such easy means of communication. Let's face it - it doesn't exist.

Maybe so, but then you have to explain why the great efforts that certain parties in the intelligence community and Congress are expending on covering up, quashing, the whole matter of supposed UFO crash retrieval and reverse-engineering above top secret black project(s). That is, the strong push-back going on to cover up and prevent further of Grusch's and colleagues' testimonies in Congress.

If not NHI's and UFO retrieval/reverse engineering, then what is it that could be engendering such efforts to suppress? There clearly is something very unusual or different going on in the DOD special access/black project area that they desperately want to suppress any interest in or knowledge of by the public or even Congress. It would seem to have to be either something even more cataclysmic than NHI's, or some long-standing conspiracy using the NHI/UFO crash retrieval idea as a covert means of funding.

Oh I don't think the US government is in possession of crashed alien vehicles, but I also dislike the idea that if nothing is leaked then there's nothing going on.

Latest news on this topic which has almost completely been muzzled in the media.

The desperate Pentagon cover-up continues.

https://www.newsweek.com/ufo-testimony-a...ay-1825041

Quote:Congress is "actively being stonewalled" in its efforts to obtain additional powers to investigate unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), also known as UFOs, according to a Republican lawmaker.

On July 26, the House Oversight Committee held a session during which David Grusch, a United States Air Force veteran formerly of the National Reconnaissance Office, said he was aware of "concerning reports from multiple esteemed and credentialed current and former military and intelligence community individuals" regarding the existence of a secret government UAP program. However, Grusch said he lacked the authorization to share classified evidence with the committee, and thus couldn't answer many of their questions.

A bipartisan group of lawmakers is urging House Speaker Kevin McCarthy to establish a select committee with the power to subpoena witnesses. This could also help with acquiring a sensitive compartmented information facility (SCIF), where Grusch would be able to share more sensitive information.

Reps. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) and Tim Burchett (R-TN), who are leading the charge for a select committee, discussed the difficulties they are facing at an event on UAP hosted by The Hill.

Luna claimed efforts to get Grusch the necessary security clearance to discuss classified documents are "actively being stonewalled."

Burchett said: "It just creates more and more conspiracy theories because our federal government is so arrogant and so bloated. They'll just run out the clock."
.....................................

As expected, Pentagon spokesmen denied that any verifiable information had been found on UFO crash retreival and reverse engineering black projects. The cover-up continues. The well-publicized DOD organization supposedly established to thoroughly investigate UAPs sure enough turns out to be actually established to put a lid on it. Of course they don't have the very high clearances needed to access this data, probably intentionally.

Status Report  Sept. 26 2023

A good new investigative article exploring the status of the matter.

"Dozens Of Government UFO Whistleblowers Have Given Testimony To Congress, Pentagon, And Inspectors General, Say Sources
Despite the growing number of UFO/UAP whistleblowers, leaders the military and intelligence community are fighting greater disclosure"

By MICHAEL SHELLENBERGER, ANDREW MOHAR, AND PHOEBE SMITH

https://public.substack.com/p/dozens-of-...id&r=c512i

Quote:"In August, shortly after US government UFO whistleblower David Grusch gave testimony to Congress about crashed spacecraft and alien “biologics,” many observers wondered how much credence to put in his testimony. After all, Grusch is just a single individual. The other two individuals who testified before Congress were former Navy pilots who said they had no evidence of a government program to retrieve and reverse-engineer spacecraft of exotic and apparently nonhuman origin.

But at least 30 other whistleblowers working for the federal government or government contractors have given testimony, or a “protected disclosure,” to the Office of the Intelligence Community Inspector General (IC IG), the Defense Department Inspector General (DOD IG), or to Congress over the last several months, according to multiple sources interviewed by Public.

When told that whistleblowers had come forward to share information similar to that shared by Grusch with Congress, Mick West, a prominent skeptic of UFOs, said, “It'd be very interesting. You know, more people saying the same thing independently makes it more likely to be true.”

And yet the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community, Thomas A. Monheim, on September 15 appeared to deny, in a letter to Congress, that his office was investigating these claims. Monheim said that his office “has not conducted any audit, inspection, evaluation, or review of alleged UAP programs within responsibility authority of the DNI that would enable … a fulsome response.”

But the way Monheim worded his response suggests he gave himself some wiggle room. Matthew Pines, a civilian intelligence analyst, noted last week that “the official taxonomy for IC IG activities includes: ‘audits, investigations, inspections, and reviews.’ Is it curious that an ‘investigation’ is not denied?... The Investigations Division is structurally separate from the Audit and Inspections & Evaluation Divisions.”

The fact that dozens of whistleblowers have come forward is not evidence of extraterrestrial life nor of a government conspiracy to cover up a retrieval or reverse-engineering program. And not all of the whistleblowers may be reporting evidence of UAPs. Some may simply be reporting illegal or unethical behavior related to UAP programs.

But the sources, who asked to remain anonymous and are all in a position to know, told Public that, in addition to the whistleblowers reporting wrongdoing, between 30 to 50 government employees or contractors have gone to the DoD’s All-Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) to offer testimony about UAPs.

“Some witnesses/whistleblowers are coming forward directly to AARO, some to the DOD IG, some to the IC IG, and some to Congress,” said Nick Pope, a UAP expert who worked on the issue for the UK’s Ministry of Defense.

"Testimony has included both first-hand and second-hand reports of crash retrieval and reverse-engineering programs by US, Russian, and Chinese governments; the testing of materials obtained from retrieved craft; active and ongoing government disinformation operations; kinetic military action with UAPs; contact and collaboration with nonhuman intelligence (NHIs); and the successful reverse-engineering of a triangle-shaped craft with unconventional propulsion."

Comment:

Despite the obvious high importance of this matter and the growing number of whistleblowers continuing to add their testimony and therefore greatly adding to the likelihood that there is fire where there is smoke, due to the ongoing confluence of crises such as the looming inability of the government to pay its bills on Oct. 1, the Ukrainian crisis, and the election turmoil, the UAP/UFO situation has been relegated to the back burner in the congress by many of its members.

The public has generally been lulled in part by government misinformation efforts, back into complacency and lack of interest in the matter, with the general attitude "I just don't care anymore. I've got too many higher priority fires to fight, to pay much attention to the UAP/UFO crash retrieval/ reverse engineering black project issue." Notwithstanding the civilization-fracturing import of the matter if it should turn out to be true. People just don't want to be bothered - only so much pressure can be paid attention to.

What sources?  Why should I trust those who wrote this?  How is it possible for the US government to hide all of this so well from the rest of us?  Are the aliens really that stupid that they always fly secretly into US military camps without being seen by most other people and then get themselves caught as soon as they arrive?
