Debunk my experience

A thread within which the "skeptics" can attempt to handwave away members personal experiences with some "scientific" rhetoric they have picked up somewhere online.

Of course, I might simply be a liar - you are welcome to say so if that is what you think, but be honest.  I want you to reveal your true colours in this thread.

The first, the lights moving slowly and making no sound, reminds me a little of this thread:

The second, involving "The room was empty but it felt exactly like a physical person had poked me." reminds me of something else:

Apparently, I fell in the water, but my father did not realize this. While he was distracted, he felt somebody poking his shoulder very hard. He was poked so hard it hurt. It made him turn around. As he turned, he expected to see somebody. Instead, he saw me floating in the water, arms and legs spread open, my hair floating around me. My face was in the water.

Seems the lights were still in the video.  The ones we witnessed passed slowly overhead and disappeared into the distance.  I grew up in that area and there are no streetlights like that along that path.  I have on one occasion mistaken a prominent light in the middle of a roundabout for a UFO for a few seconds before realizing what it was.  Luckily my first instinct in such cases is to look for a normal explanation.

I have the feeling that you were directing this at me, but I haven't the foggiest idea why you think I would be interested in "debunking" this, nor what there would be to debunk. I have only ever defended these kinds of experiences, especially given that I experience similar (or actually, much odder) experiences myself.

As far as I can tell, the only difference between me and most other proponents, is that I am uninterested in speculation in the absence of valid and reliable information (given that history has shown us that this kind of speculation turns out to be mostly misguided). If others want to do so, I don't much care, unless they want to claim that any of it's valid.

I don’t think they’re debunkable (is that a word?) as you’re reporting what you saw or felt and your interpretation of it. If you’re asking for alternative explanations it’s hard because there isn’t really much detail, other than perhaps misinterpretation of what you did see.

Both experiences you mention are however potentially corroborated by other people which suggests that what you saw was really there, although what it actually was is hard to say.
