Other stuff, to me, means occasional titbits of trivia or items of passing interest (e.g. movies, music, books, etc.). Core content is the stuff we want to discuss in the main. Personally, I don't include CT or politics as core and think they are amply served in other forums such as the "new-direction" Skeptiko. I wouldn't like to see either encroaching on the subjects we started the forum to discuss.

So would a discussion of MKULTRA and its relation to LSD and the social revolution of the 1960's and possible CIA engineering of culture be on topic for this forum?

Isn't this Alex's new bread & butter? If this isn't a forum designed to replace Skeptiko, why does it need to be a nest for "possible"/"alleged" conspiracies?
I think Laird was a founding member of this forum, and like me, I think Laird believes that evil presents itself on the Earth in many ways through physical and non-physical means. Is they to be no discussion of meta-physics and how those systems of good and evil may interplay through politics or other social movements?

For the very reason stated above. If this is a prison planet matrix and there is actually an epic battle between good and evil, why wouldn't we want to discuss the ways that those forces might be presenting in our current and past systems?
Who among us is actually going to participate in both forums? My intention is to troll Alex and shit-post skeptiko as much as possible.
I think that this discussion should be wound up with Politics & CT allowed in some form, more controlled or a closer eye kept on members there is fine by me. I think this will turn out to be a storm in a tea cup, if behaviour crosses a line, deal with the individual then.

There is going to be overlap. LSD is a "mind-altering" drug and is of interest to us here for that very reason. The CIA and their propaganda machine fall into politics/CT. To me, it is still a simple distinction.

When discussing evidence for certain psi effects, the CIA programs are bound to crop up - as they should. We need to use a modicum of common sense here - nobody is going to get a slapped wrist for talking about government psi programs. We should just be aware of the context - which is psi and not conspiracy. Is that reasonable?
Seems to me people are itching to sell us on their favorite CTs and political views. Happy to play the game but just be ready for this to become a political/CT forum.

Still want to get an answer to the question if moderation of CTs will be like the nonsense Alex tolerates where people cannot offer real evidence but insist that some psychological flaw keeps people from connecting the disparate dots the same way they do.

So a discussion of MKULTRA and its relation to LSD and the social revolution of the 1960's and possible CIA engineering of culture WOULD be on topic for this forum.

But I'm guessing a thread on pizza-gate would be not allowed. Because people think it's bullshit.

I get the impression from some of the Skeptiko posts that proponents in the parapsychology debate should be somehow less than sceptical when it comes to Conspiracy Theories. At Skpetiko it became clear to me long ago that there were people with whom I emphatically agreed on matters related to psi but found their politics abhorrent.
