NDE of a man clinically dead for 45 minutes

I'm just beginning to watch this.

This man drank something toxic in Thailand, just made it to a bathroom in a Dairy Queen, fell unconscious and died through suffocating with his own vomit. He was in the locked bathroom for at least 45 minutes when the ambulance arrived. During all this time, he could see everything from above and know everyone's thoughts. The medics tried to resurrect him, it didn't work and they put him in body bag. His legs had started to stiffen. He was put in a body bag. It was only during the ride back that something stranger occurred - the "dead" man, Vincent, could hear a voice telling one of the medics, a rookie, to check again...

He was defibrillated, then one heartbeat, then flat again. It was easily over an hour until the heart started beating, and then he was brain dead for 3 days. It was during those 3 days that he had the otherworldly NDE.

Did they stop defibrillating and then his heart started over an hour later?  It seems unlikely that they would have continued trying for all that time.  3 days brain dead?  Don't they usually consider that dead?  Where was he for those 3 days?  In the morgue?

From what I understand, they did the resuscitation in the room, it didn't work and they put him in the body bag. It was only once in the ambulance that the rookie went bag to the body, under the criticism of the medics, and started again. Listen to it for the rest. He was in a coma for the 3 days from what I understand. That's where he had the otherworldly part of the NDE. But he had an OBE from the moment he died right though the ambulance business.

The part where he is above the restaurant and there are no walls or ceiling is exactly what my friend reported and many others too. Doesn't prove anything but it is interesting that so many people who don't know each other report the same thing.

At about 1h05 in the interview he talks about coming out of the coma, and how the neurologists dealt with him. It's depressing (this was 2003) that one of them tried to convince him to disregard anything he might have "imagined" during the coma, and that Vincent, with a skeptical/scientific mindset, considered whether he was schizophrenic and almost started taking an antipsychotic until a spirit intervened... Evidential stuff followed that shocked the psychiatrist. Worth listening to.

well I watched alot of it, but I did have to scroll forward in parts, because it became a bit fantastical in its scale, with little critical thinking that I could see, little corroboration, and a regular reminder that this is just his experience. It was like the most amazing physiological dying experience and recovery (caused by the health drink concentrate from Thailand). The experience has the best of every nde, and the best of every take-home message rolled into one. Lots of god. We even had consulting room spirits, and amazing mediumship, with an undisclosed/secret spirit message that results in a registered psychiatrist telling him to "get the fuck out of my office".

I see the experient is from the film industry, the book is a current NYT best seller, he's on every interview channel, his personal website seems little more than a promotional/marketing web site, and I also see there is an additional persons name on the book cover. I looked this person up, and he's an ex USAF A-10 Pilot, I didn't understand his involvement.

Not sure I want to buy the book, this is not like any sort of experience I've ever come across, it's all of them, but in the interview seems light on verification, and contained lots of holes that make you want to buy the book, just to fill them in. It has all the fizzy, bubbly goodness, but none of the self criticism or humbleness I normally find in experients.

I'm not sure who you're referring to here Max. Do you mean the interviewer or the interviewee?

And where are you seeing it's a NYT best seller? (From what I gather on amazon, it's only available as an e-book.)

both the host and guest talk about being from the film industry... the host then mentions its a hard business... I read the NYT best seller message somewhere when I was researching the guest, I didn't verify it.

Update, My bad, I see, the "#1 NYT Best seller" is only the highlighted status of a reviewer of the book, right at the top of the amazon page.

Yeah the host used to be in the film industry. I've watched several of his podcast interviews. You can find him in IMDB. I've heard him say he decided to plunge into something more meaningful, take a chance, follow his heart/convictions and start this podcast.
