To me it sounds pretty much unlike anything I ever heard or read from Sam Parnia. Also, some of the other parts in the article use quotation marks to indicate that a specific person said something. That part has no quotes, and doesn't even sound like a summary or paraphrasing of anything he actually said.

Edit: Same words, same journalist here:

Interesting NDE, Typoz, thanks for that. The first part of the quote from Sam Parnia is correct. The part about the brain scanning itself is 100% not from Parnia, of that I am pretty certain.  The very same quote about the brain scanning itself came up a couple a few months ago and I remember seeing it somewhere but I just can't remember where yet.

Thanks for the confirmation - maybe that quote is even discussed on this forum, it sounds vaguely familiar. Yes, here

That same NDE is covered in more detail here (no mention of Parnia this time):

Thanks for the extended version, Typoz.

Following such reports, the comments section never fails to reflect the deep meaning and insight gained from those reading them!

Nothing to do with promoting his artwork then.

If it looks like that I would not wish to go there. Maybe he took too much LSD

If he had died, he would be dead, since he isn't, then he didn't.

Brian, At Home, France, about 8 hours ago

How come every person who died and was resuscitated said they saw themselves floating over their body and could see those standing round it. None saw a blotch, or is that something that goes with his belief ?

And finally to sum it up very succinctly

He's full of sh@t.

A short interview with Parnia again, as the 'go to' authoritative source on NDE's, along with a longer section on Nancy Rhymes experience. Parnia must have at least half of the 1000 recruits into his study by now so one would think he must have an idea where this is going now.

No doubt in my mind that he appears to think that the evidence points to a separation of mind and brain.
Thanks for posting this Tim, I saw it yesterday on Facebook but couldn’t wrestle it away from the site to post it elsewhere.  Thumbs Up
Oh my God, I hate all this.   Surprise

Thanks Stan, I agree. Did you see the report from anaesthesiologist Chris Yerington's patient, Frank ?  I think Parnia would have been very interested to see that. It's certainly as good as a double blind hit (in theory that is)

I think this is another segment of the same interview:

Woman On ‘Crossing Over’ During Cardiac Arrest: I’m No Longer Afraid Of Death | Megyn Kelly TODAY

Cherie Aimee's experience; includes brief comment from Sam Parnia.

Thanks, Typoz, that was really interesting!  I've read about her somewhere before, a couple of years ago maybe. What she's relating there about making the same mistakes really resonates with me. And yet it's so difficult to actually do, if you get my drift.

EDIT Yes I remember now. She's well publicised (maybe a bit too well for some people as regards financial reward etc) but I say good luck to her after surviving all that.

Parnia seems to be exuding more confidence in this last interview, will it have hits?
