"Kindred sites"; inbound links (you can help)

Hi all,

Despite that I've actioned everything canvassed in the SEO and site structure thread, our rankings on various relevant search phrases unfortunately haven't improved all that much in my monitoring over the past few months.

It seems that the most effective action we could take is to increase the number of inbound external links to Psience Quest. This would improve our "page authority".

If, then, you have a website on which it would be appropriate to link to us, or if you have an opportunity to appropriately and respectfully do so on a third-party website, then that would be very helpful in improving our visibility not only directly, but also indirectly by improving our search ranking.

On a related note, @David001 suggested a while back that we add a "Kindred sites" link to our header, and invite those we include to reciprocate (of course, we couldn't/wouldn't require that they do). His first suggestion was to include a link to Jeffrey Mishlove (presumably via his New Thinking Allowed project).

This now, more than ever, seems worth pursuing.

Do you agree, and, if so, which kindred site(s) would you like us to include?

In fact, that's a little misleading: I wasn't the only one. @Sci in particular actioned our foray into social media.

Thanks Laird! Should I be seeing this feature already, or does it take a few days to become live?

It's still at the proposal stage, not yet implemented. I'm looking for suggestions for (additional) sites to include.

Promoting other sites on here isn't a good idea, it would just weaken PSQ... social media is a good idea to attempt to bring in traffic... but who has the time to do this manually... as sci discovered... X.com had a free level of Api capped at 100 posts I think... AI would have to condense PSQ threads into a controversial/polorised-question and post it to X.com with a direct link to the PSQ thread, plus some fixed high profile has tags... a picture would help... but that's getting even more complicated... whether any of that can be threaded together for free I don't know... I spend much more time on X - when I get time.

Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.

Grok quite happily pulls this example X post out of the 'veridical NDE's are a myth' thread:

Veridical NDEs are raw, soul-shaking proof that consciousness outlives the body, with cases so undeniable they haunt skeptics who cling to "hallucination" excuses. Stop silencing the dying's truth—our essence endures, and no lab coat can bury that forever. #NDE #consciousness #brain #neardeath

Then perhaps if it was posted so that only those accounts included could reply (our accounts)... the only place to go to reply would be PSQ... and replying by quoting the post, would end up promoting PSQ to even more people...

Weaken it in what sense?

Your thoughts on this, @Sci?

I think it might work in theory.

For me it's less a time issue than not being sure what to post.  Huh

I also strongly suspect that interviews, more than anything else, would draw people.
'Historically, we may regard materialism as a system of dogma set up to combat orthodox dogma...Accordingly we find that, as ancient orthodoxies disintegrate, materialism more and more gives way to scepticism.'

I'm not against it. Maybe it's worth a try?
