Since I could not identify the lights on both occasions that qualifies as an ufo. On the first occasion the year was 1969 an August night. Looking at the night sky I notice how three stars formed a perfect equalateral triangle. As I watched them, two moved apart and stopped. I continued watch for further movement, but nothing happened. I turned my attention to another part of the sky and saw another "star" move. It too stopped. On another occasion in the early 70's it was an overcase summer evening I spied an orange light high up. How high I could not tell. Casually drifting along. What did I see on both occasions is still a mystery.

No, nothing that I was involved with, but a ex- fighter pilot (& airline) I know well and respect a lot says he saw one. I remember chatting to a Captain I was on a trip with, telling me about something he and the rest of a tanker crew saw when he was in the Air Force. I can't remember any details but he was certainly sure that it was a UFO flying beside them.
Oh my God, I hate all this.   Surprise

I have a question here and I think it is fair based on your previous responses to others about unusual phenomena.

Why should I believe you ?

Interesting, thanks Stan. UFO as an unidentified object or alien spaceship ?

Think it was the 'typical' cigar shaped object. They (the crew that saw it) believed it was something alien.

I didn't press my friend, I guess I just assumed that he saw something that was highly unusual, that he couldn't explain. That was good enough for me to leave as a possibility. He would certainly be capable of telling an aircraft that was reflecting strangely, or contrails that were unusual, or something like that. He is the only guy that I knew that was definitely as keen or more keen on aircraft than I was. He could identify any aircraft as well as picking them out quicker than I could. He was sharp, bright and to top it all - modest with it! Basically I hated him.  Confused

There's no reason to.  On the other hand I'm making an ordinary claim. I saw lights than I could not identify. The claim neither states or implies more than that.

Okay, that's fair. So do you accept that when people see other phenomena they are being truthful or are their limits on that ?

Reports like that from reliable sources are persuasive, aren't they.

I am pretty well fully persuaded about the existence of UFOs.

I've not ever implied people out right lie. They could be mistaken about what they see or experience.  Yes, there are limits for me accepting claims without further investigation.
