No, it's a statement of fact. The on-going (until a conclusion can be drawn because of the weight of evidence) multi centre experiment (Aware) will determine (finally) whether consciousness continues when the brain stops functioning. Or not.

I find it interesting that the human mind so easily can misremember events that happened. That perception is so malleable. What is up with that? I suppose scientists or those who research this stuff have a theory that it has some sort of evolutionary advantage?
