Another oldie.  I created the flat Julia in Gimp's fractal explorer then imported the image into Bryce 3D's terrain editor to create these rocks.  Everything else was done directly in Bryce including texturing the rocks.

Thanks for that - but what are the little blue domes on the left of the image?

They are actually chrome balls reflecting the sky.  I tend to compose scenes like this without any regard for what everything is.  It adds interest and mystery to the composition I think.
There's an amazing video on this page.  I didn't link directly to the video because I felt an explanation was important.

That looks superb - I took it full screen for even greater effect!

I also spotted this on the same website:

I have to say most of the 'art' on that website made me shudder, however.

I managed to create one of these in TieraZon and another in TieraZon2.

The above image, almost monochrome but not quite, reminded me of some sort of scan of a cross-section of a brain or something similar.

This one, though it fits my computer screen nicely this way, could look good rotated 90 degrees, resembling a floral display.

My own adaptation of the Meta-brot formula.
((((z*z^2+c)*(z*z^2+c)+(c*c+z))*((z*z^2+c)*(z*z^2+c)+(c*c+z))+((c*c+z)*(c*c+z)+(z*z^2+c)))*(((z*z^2+c)*(z*z^2+c)+(c*c+z))*((z*z^2+c)*(z*z^2+c)+(c*c+z))+((c*c+z)*(c*c+z)+(z*z^2+c)))+(((c*c+z)*(c*c+z)+(z*z^2+c))*((c*c+z)*(c*c+z)+(z*z^2+c))+((z*z^2+c)*(z*z^2+c)+(c*c+z))))
