The Next Paradigm

Quote:In order to perceive the world, we need more than just raw sensory input: a subliminal paradigm of
thought is required to interpret raw sensory data and, thereby, create the objects and events we perceive
around ourselves. As such, the world we see reflects our own unexamined, culture-bound assumptions
and expectations, which explains why every generation in history has believed that it more or less
understood the world. Today, we perceive a world of objects and events outside and independent of
mind, which merely reflects our current paradigm of thought. Anomalies that contradict this paradigm
have been accumulated by physicists over the past couple of decades, which will eventually force our
culture to move to a new paradigm. Under this new paradigm, a form of universal mind will be viewed as
nature’s sole fundamental entity. In this paper, I offer a sketch of what the new paradigm may look like.

Keywords: scientific paradigm, figuration, quantum mechanics, quantum entanglement, non-
contextuality, idealism, mind, consciousness, dissociation, dissociative identity disorder.
'Historically, we may regard materialism as a system of dogma set up to combat orthodox dogma...Accordingly we find that, as ancient orthodoxies disintegrate, materialism more and more gives way to scepticism.'

Hmm no luck on my work pc or my iphone... Anyone else struggling?
I used Firefox and it offered me to open or save the pdf.

On Chrome, though, I'm directed to this pdf page:

Maybe hit that link to see if it works for you.
This works:

Bernardo brings up the topic of Realism v. Anti-Realism - made me recall there's discussion about this on Closer to Truth:

Quote:What are anti-realists and why do they deny objective reality? What we know of the world must come through our senses and be processed by our brains. Both can be unreliable; illusions can fool our senses and illness or injury can disrupt our brains. Therefore, can we ever be sure that anything outside ourselves is truly what it seems?

It's keyed up to Isham's segment (I hope!) as IIRC (it's been a few years) he gets into some of the questions of realism and contexuality Bernardo mentions=

For a similar take but with some differing assumptions (or at least I think so Huh ) this seems like a good summarization of Hoffman's Interface Theory of Perception + Conscious Realism:

Consciousness and the Interface Theory of Perception

Quote:Based on evolutionary grounds, brain activity does not cause consciousness, and on mathematical grounds, consciousness is not
identical to functional properties of the brain. Consciousness is fundamental and must be modeled precisely in its own right.

For anyone who hadn’t noticed, Bernardo interviewed by Alex again this week:
