Foreign Accent Syndrome

I have looked into the actual evidence for this. There’s no proven cases of anyone speaking a new language never being taught to them before. For that reason I think there’s nothing to see here. Just other curiosity being hyped up.

My wife who has a masters degree in linguistics has actually come across studies that show how after neurological damage, aphasia affects only the victim's native language and not their ability to speak languages they haven't learned.  I am looking for this online and if I find it, I will start another thread.  It isn't entirely off topic - there are relationships between the two subjects but maybe the OP want's to focus only on the accents in this thread.  Either way, you are wrong here as evidence clearly exists.
