Why has this forum become so slow?

Many of us have had much longer absences, Ian, no need to apologise for anything. Hope your problems soon resolve. Last October, (until about two or three weeks ago), within the space of around three days, I got hit by the most agonising and debilitating sciatica and I do mean agonising. 

I've never experienced anything like it and ordinary painkillers wouldn't touch it. Couldn't sit down for more than a minute or two, couldn't lie down (at night) I had to sit on the bed. I wouldn't have believed it was possible to be in such discomfort from something so ordinary sounding. Sucks getting old.

I'd recommend seeing an acupuncturist too - even though you are feeling better. They say the problem is not normally nerves trapped by the vertebra, but nerves trapped by the muscles near the spine. I was worried at first that his needles might pierce my spine, but he assured me that they are nowhere near long enough to do that.

Call it a conspiracy theory if you like, but this is a problem with a nice solution that modern medicine has chosen to ignore.

these types of forum format are pretty much dead, very deprecated by the search engines, very few people go looking for this stuff, and can find us. It's all social media nowadays, current events, and it's constantly pushed at them, rather than them seeking it out. And there is so much other real change stuff, and propaganda, going on in the english speaking world at the moment, which is affecting people, that people have less time available for this format. There is just too much other competition for their time.

And most forums have copied the censorship clamp down over the last 2 years making it harder to contribute, and most people now self-censor. People get old, sick and die off, and the younger people are using younger media, and doing other things.

These format forums helped me develop my own ideas from around 2007, and my ideas are quite crystallised now... there are so few people left here, this site is so far off the beaten path now, getting no traffic, and there is no one left from the few who are left here whom are interested in discussing the things I'm interested in, and vice versa.

I had wondered last year, whether there would be any interest in doing some regular twitter spaces, because there is such a lot of knowledge on here, and it's more immediate, faster and less time consuming.

I have never used any social media, maybe partly because I am a private sort of person in real life, but also:

I have never owned a smartphone. Obviously I like computers, but I don't see the need to carry one everywhere I go. The mobile phone I have is pretty dumb - it cost me £30 new, and it is pay as you go because I only switch it on when I want to call someone.

Facebook and the like seemed fairly innocent to begin with, but then it became clear that children were being bullied in various ways with social media in general, and some children are groomed for sex via the same route.

More recently, social media have started censoring information to suit whatever agenda the owner has.

They also harvest information about people. That might have been of little consequence at one time, but as countries become more and more authoritarian, who knows what that information might be good for.

Facebook and the like can arbitrarily close down anything on their system with no need to provide an adequate reason. Maybe we think psi information is too esoteric or innocent for anyone to worry about but are we sure? I mean many to pick one example, remote viewing seems to provide some information when performed correctly. If it turns out that there is a better way to do do it - Ganzfield RM perhaps - it might suddenly become a hot potato.

In short, I think we should all put a bit of effort into keeping a decent psi discussion going here - use it or lose it.

It's just like talking on the phone.

For myself, I tend to be a bit backward when it comes to using voice or video online (may or may not be age related ). But I'd certainly encourage ideas like this for those who are interested. That's if the various time-zones can be co-ordinated, they vary considerably for our group.

I was thinking of saying much the same. I find videos a rather clumsy way to share ideas. Interesting ideas are best presented as text - possibly including other symbols.

I've always been more a reader here than a participant; I don't feel I have sufficient knowledge to contribute most of the time. Activity always seems to ebb and flow, so it's not something I've been terribly worried about.

And it's not about knowledge particularly, as I'm personally more interested in peoples experiences.

And as typoz says... the actual time will need some discussion to suit the majority, but as it's from people across the world, people do need to be flexible.

I think you may be able listen in to twitter spaces using just a web browser... but you just won't be able to contribute to the discussions.
