Two versions of Ievan Polka.

What I liked here is not (only) the song itself, but (rather) the video.

Hmmm... Maybe such music video belongs to "Political Discusions" rather than here? One way or another, here it is:

Well, the second video seems to well and truly  put to rest the age old conundrum of which came first. The accordion  or the polka.
All seriousness aside that was an  amazing display of the human voice. Thank you.
Fun. And catchy as hell.

I heard an edited version of this concert recently on the radio. I like the sound of the cimbalom, and the music is suitably chosen and/or arranged to  suit that instrument.

My favourite so far is the hora at about 44:11. Sends shivers through me!

Includes:
Quote:1.La Campanella - Niccolo Paganini (1:54) 2.Introducție și rondo capriccioso - Camille Saint-Saens (6:55) 3.Minor Swing - Django Reinhardt & Stephane Grapelli (18:38) 4.Bossa Dorado - Dorado Schmitt (23:42) 5.Tears - Django Reinhardt (27:32) 6.Got a match - Chick Corea (31:13) 7.Bulgăraș de ghiață rece - muzica populara/text - George Topârceanu (36:42) 8.Hora lăutăreasca, Geamparale și Brâu - Sandu Sura (44:11) 9.Hai Buzău, Buzău (50:50) 10.Tinerețe, dulce tinerețe - muzica Sandu Sura și Veronica Ungureanu/text Veronica Ungureanu și Viorica Lupu (54:30) 11.Hora și Breaza - Toni Iordache (57:35) 12.Cântec de dragoste și Joc Bănățean - Sandu Sura (1:03:15) 13.Picături de untdelemn (1:10:03)

Quite the performance, especially considering he doesn't appear  to be referencing  any sheet music.

'Historically, we may regard materialism as a system of dogma set up to combat orthodox dogma...Accordingly we find that, as ancient orthodoxies disintegrate, materialism more and more gives way to scepticism.'

Due to my current learning of German, I started listening to German songs... and found a good band E Nomine, with songs being a mixture of German and Latin. Some of their music brings associations with Enigma... at least for me. Listen for yourself:

Yep, I get an Enigma vibe from them too.

Well, this one has an especially clear Enigma-style theme:

Yet their music is in fact quite diverse - it can be much more active and rhytmic, as in here:

And one more good song from them:

Well, this is enough... Will provide all here with some more music, when I find it.
