First off, Hi everyone! Glad to be back on both here and Skeptiko! I tried to explain this to the best of my ability, if you don't understand something, please ask me to clarify! These are two types of "premonitions" that I experience quite often.
Radio/Music Premonitions- This is when I am able to predict the next song that comes on the radio, but only if I have a strong connection to the band/musician. For example, I am a huge Nirvana fan. I would list them as my favorite band of all time. It is partly because I feel a major emotional connection to their music that no other band/musician can make me feel . Anyways, I can always tell when they are playing on the radio, or at least about to. I'll be sitting in the car, usually daydreaming, when I'll get a "flash" of an image of Nirvana. I'll turn to my dad and I'll tell him to turn the radio because Nirvana is about to play/is playing. The first couple of times this happened, my dad would give me a funny look, but he'd turn the radio, and he would open his eyes really wide when it was Nirvana playing. If it isn't Nirvana playing, then they are the next band playing. My dad still gets really freaked out about it.
My local rock radio station doesn't play Nirvana a lot, or at least not frequently. The order of the songs is also completely random and changes everyday. I can do it with songs I hate, too. My aunt was listening to the radio on her phone, and I suddenly got "23" by Mike Will Made-it stuck in my head. This didn't make sense for two reasons. One, because I absolutely hate the song. Two, she was listening to a country radio station. Well, the next song that played was "23".
Technology Premonitions- This will probably sound weird, but I "feel" a strong connection to my iPad. I'm not addicted or anything to it, but I use it for various purposes throughout the day like schoolwork, music, reading, etc. This "premonition" type is a little harder to explain so I'll just go ahead and give an example. I let my sister borrow my iPad for a couple of days to use as an alarm clock. The day that I had given it to her, an image of "The Walking Dead" popped into my head. This was strange because I have never seen the show before. For the next three days, it kept popping into my head randomly. I thought nothing of it, though I did think it was weird.
Well, my sister gave me back my iPad on the third day. Out of curiosity, I looked through my YouTube history. For the last three days, she had been watching "The Walking Dead" series on my iPad. There was no way I could have known she was watching this because she was several miles away, staying with my mother for the weekend. This happens to me at least twice a week.
I would love to hear people's thoughts and opinions on these types of "premonitions". I'm also really curious if anyone has experienced anything similar to my experiences before.
