This is not reality

I always get a little jolt of surprise and joy when NDErs express this sort of statement.

I thought of doing a thread like this because of this previous video I saw some weeks ago, that I was able to find again. I really liked this one.

"How is it possible that I was convinced I was this person and that I had all these relationships and all these issues? Because none of it was true, it was all an illusion."

As it happens I've recently been watching some of the videos from that same youtube channel. Recently they seem to be publishing at least two new videos per week.

It does seem pretty good in just letting people describe their own experiences in their own way.

Excuse my ignorance of such things, but how do I find the channel from a single video?

If you click on one of them, via youtube it will bring a lot more from the same channel up. Or get one of the videos up and look directly below to the left, you'll see where to click....  The Other Side NDE - YouTube

Click on the Channel Name under the video - The Other Side NDE. Here is the link for this channel.

Just a slight caveat, Ian. I liked the man's story but I'd need to see more details of his medical crisis before I was satisfied
personally. I'm not trying to come across as the arbiter of kosher testimonies, BTW, I'm not. Everyone is of course free to accept whatever they like.

Sorry for the skepticism over this statement, but although I am certainly an afterlife proponent, I am too engaged in physical life as my personality and physical body to dismiss as illusions what seems to me to be the essence of my human individuality, which very clearly to me is made up of my personality, relationships and life issues. If what survives physical death has shucked off all of these things, then it doesn't seem to be any meaningful sort of survival. Of course I probably can only say this because I have not had an NDE.

Excuse the recalcitrant attitude, but I recently experienced the excruciating pain of a compression fracture of the 3rd lumbar vertebra, and had surgery for it, and am undergoing a protracted rehab. NDEer, don't tell me such unpleasant human experience is not my personal reality. Reality is ultimately mental as we are told, but on this Earth we carry our reality around with us in our physical bodies.

I'm not taking these (and other) NDErs' such statements to mean this reality has no reality at all, but that it feels infinitely less real, to the point where we can say "this isn't reality" (or Reality). (As waking relates to dreaming, say.) I spent this day with a fair amount of intense psychic suffering and it was another demonstration to me of how we carry this stuff around, as you say, and it's no joking matter (from this perspective while we're in it, or this channel while we're attuned to it).

That being said, personally I still like the provocative (and for me ultimately reassuring) "in-your-faceness" intent of such statements to express how incredibly tiny this reality is compared to the ultimate.

p.s. if you listen all the way through to the one featuring the man, he does say at the end that he felt like the same "him": "I was still me at my core. I had the same sense of mischievous sense of humor, the mental talk that goes on in our head. I was still me."
