Why two geniuses delved into the occult.

Quote:Their book is actually made up of two essays. Jung’s is on synchronicity – nothing unexpected there. But Pauli’s was a real eye opener. He wrote on Johannes Kepler and explored how his scientific achievements had to be understood within the times in which he lived. This involved looking into alchemy, mysticism and religion. Amazingly, he included his own research in this area. This dazzled me. I had never imagined him to be an expert on such esoteric material and so passionate about it. I had to know more about both of them. What was their connection? Who was the real Wolfgang Pauli?

Hi Brian, thanks for that.
Have you looked at his book?

I haven't yet. I intend to though.
There's an interesting review here: https://plus.maths.org/issue51/reviews/b...tml/op.pdf

Thanks Brian, that review was quite interesting - I think I'll get the book. I have often read that Paili had an interest in combining the occult and physics, but the details were hard to come by!
BTW, I hope you have recovered your interest in this forum, and are no longer thinking of giving it a rest.

I don't know if I'll be too involved in the forum but I'll keep looking in and I'll keep looking for new material and sharing my findings here. The issue with me goes deeper than the forum though. I'm tired and I'm looking forward to moving on. It's only my lovely wife who is keeping me here, otherwise I would probably find a secluded spot in the forest somewhere and lie down and go to sleep and never wake up.

Brian,
I think we all feel like that a bit sometimes, but do you have some specific problems? Are you retired, or very old? You can always PM me to have a private discussion. I think that without my partner, I too might find it hard to continue.

It's a hard thing to explain but I just feel like I don't belong here.

Do you mean just on this forum, or more generally?
I don't think anyone else feels that way about you!
IMHO, If you are interested in psychic stuff, then you belong here.

The forum is fine, I mean in this world.
