It seems to me that Intelligent Design enters into trying to penetrate the mystery of why human spiritual illumination as in a deep NDE OBE almost always involves going to a place of supernal light. It didn't have to be that way - after all, why not make Spirit be perceived as a very deep but ultimately melodious sound, or a different color like yellow or violet? Our consciousness as human beings appears to have been designed for such a perception, probably because the designers felt that based on physical experience on Earth, perceived physical light or illumination (which physically reveals what is out there on the Earth) faintly mirrors and best symbolizes the all-encompassing penetrating and revealing Light of spirit.

Quote:Henry Ossawa Tanner, who was one of the most accomplished African-American artists of his day, is celebrated for his depictions of biblical subjects using a modernist visual language. This video explores how Henry Ossawa Tanner’s 1898 painting The Annunciation visualizes the Virgin Mary in a moment of spiritual transformation. Developing a visual method that unites realism and mystery, this painting makes the annunciation more immediate and intimate for the modern viewer. Written and narrated by Dr. James Romaine.
'Historically, we may regard materialism as a system of dogma set up to combat orthodox dogma...Accordingly we find that, as ancient orthodoxies disintegrate, materialism more and more gives way to scepticism.'
