We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.

Food for thought, definitely. I'd have to go over it a few more times to weigh in more.

Just so I'm clear - did you make this graphic yourself?

So I wasn't overly familiar with your theories on Skeptiko, so let me see if I follow the first part:

 - It's possible for different minds (just gonna use that term for consciousness/psyche/"soul"/whatever people use) to end up "synced" via an unknown (probably quantum) mechanism, but that syncing requires the minds to have shared knowledge/learning/experiences?

Have you considered adding voice. It seems like each of the sections could stand to have quite a bit of exposition.

You voyeur.
But seriously, it's a good idea, chuck. I can definitely see this as a visually-enhanced video with narration.

Max,

I thought of a phrase that may express this adding of environmental patterns, including concepts, that can accumulate into structured wholes. -- "an idea whose time has come"   These holistic structures present as overall states apart from linear physical causes.  The paper below maybe a clear way to quantify such claims.

Quote: An additive and operational entanglement measure: conditional entanglement of mutual information

Based on the monogamy of entanglement, we develop the technique of quantum conditioning to build an additive entanglement measure: the conditional entanglement of mutual information. Its operational meaning is elaborated to be the minimal net ”flow of qubits” in the process of partial state merging. The result and conclusion can also be generalized to multipartite entanglement cases.

The math of this paper is far beyond my very limited reach.  However, a good "Bob and Alice" example is always fun to think about.

a side note - stochastic resonance is fundamentally measured in terms of a gain in mutual information

So, in the example of the castle tower or the figures sitting down viewed from the back, those are patterns that can add up and cause minds to sync up, but experiences that are so common as to be every day (seeing road signs on the commute to work) average out and are unlikely to cause any sync?
