Given the general standard of sceptical debate here, Hyman would sue, and Honorton would probably come back and haunt us.

Rounds vs Squares is inspired. Sometimes you’re a round, sometimes you’re a square.

And sometimes you're a square sweet that looks round.

What is the name change expected to accomplish?

MaxB has a good point. It may be fun to change the name to something silly, but then the forum might not come up on a search for a skeptical perspective.

Proponent vs Opponent seems more Combative to me?

"Expressions of Skepticism" Or "Skepticism Corner" seems more accurate, given all of us have different degrees of skepticism about different experiments, or the reading of experiments. For example Max and I are "proponents", but both of us have questioned the usual reading of NDEs in different ways.
'Historically, we may regard materialism as a system of dogma set up to combat orthodox dogma...Accordingly we find that, as ancient orthodoxies disintegrate, materialism more and more gives way to scepticism.'

Or we combine it with the ‘alternate views’ section (which is a type of ‘skepticism’ I guess) and call the whole thing ‘Challenges’. The word carries a few meanings and completely removes the combative assumption?

Or stay as we are... :D
I don't mind so much the idea of renaming SvP to "Challenges". In an earlier post I'd floated "Debates and challenges" and I'd be OK with leaving "Debates" out of the name.

Not so keen on merging with the "Alternative views" forum though as it covers slightly different topics, but am open to being persuaded, especially if others like this suggestion.

Yeah it's different topics so I'm definitely against that.
