I think the previous few posts on the Wuhan Virus thread have shown just how important it is to have somewhere where members can discuss things outside of things PSI. I am often taken with a strong notion to put something down on paper that has nothing to do with psi. ‘Other topics’ was the place I went to on Skeptiko to do so, I felt it very important to be able to discuss these things with my friends at both places. I’ve recently left Skeptiko precisely because it has stopped being an open minded place where all views were accepted, if not exactly welcomed. It has become an echo chamber imo. I’d hate to see the same thing happen here.
Other purpose forums of course exist by the dozen, but my valued friends that were and are on Skeptiko or here on PQ are unique and I think very special to me. Although I’ve never met any of them in person, they nevertheless are a rare, unique bunch of people. That’s why I want to try to stay here, because it would take a long time to find, if it’s even possible now, such a forum. I welcome honest, robust discussion about non mainstream opinions. The post-mortem into this virus, many years hence, will maybe show how it is important to keep all avenues open, (an open mind) and not stick rigidly with one that may be leading down the wrong path. If a broken clock that is only getting the right answer twice a day is (by whatever method) getting a very important answer right, surely we would be fools not to listen to what it has to say?
The last thing I would like to see would be the loss of Chris, Malf, Linda and others that do not like a lot of my thinking on certain topics. But is the opposite true? It’s ok, it’s understandable, I don’t hold anything against them. None of us hold the truth, but occasionally, all of us bring forth nuggets of wisdom that are as rare as they are hard to see. Of that I’m quite sure - not certain, of course!
Some here like to put all our faith in Science, but what is Science without human beings, with all their frailties? It’s nothing. Some maybe hold more store in the esoteric while others prefer a mixture, I would probably say I am in that category. Some seem to think that the mainstream holds more truth than that outside it. Well, possibly so, but the mainstream are floundering about seeking answers just as much as those outside, that much is clear. Don’t be so certain of things that we don’t understand fully. And what do we understand fully?

Oh my God, I hate all this.
