NDE describing seeing higher selves

Interesting account where the NDEr sees her still living husband and children "on the other side" (as their higher selves), as well as all of her other lives.

This wasn't a surprise to her, as it fit her own pre-existing beliefs. This is a person who appears to have already been an intuitive.

Queued up to where the NDE starts:

Maybe she saw that, and most don't, because she is already "ready" for that reality.

With the caveat that I have an innate negative reflex when people see the still living in NDEs/Deathbed Visions/etc because it makes these death-related experiences seem like dreams...I do wonder if we need to get past the idea the "soul" is just a ghost copy of our selves here. As the writer Attanasio, who I've quoted a few times, said - "He was struck by the sky-wide realization that his soul was not in his body. Rather, his body was inside the cosmic immensity of his soul."

Though to perhaps ground this in a bare sketch of a model, there are plenty of video games where you are controlling more than one body. Could something like that being going on for all of us?

I do like how she said she wasn't surprised to see her kids or her husband because our higher selves are always on the other side. It makes me think of the people who've hypothesized the Holy Guardian Angel is "just" the realized future self or in-between life self.

Anyway, enough babble from me, thanks for sharing that NDE!

I think there's a need to avoid falling into an either/or way of thinking here, for example things must be either deterministic or random. In this context, suggesting that any person seen during an NDE must be either deceased or else the experience is a dream (I know there was more flexibility than that, it was just a way of considering things).

My view, we don't have any of this firmly enough nailed down by solid understanding to be able to say what the possibilities are. Things could just be so very different that the description might be something outside of our current models.

Oh I agree, in fact it seems dreams - or perhaps better stated the Imaginal - is something of a boundary between this life and the next.

We don't have to exist only in a localized body, in fact I suspect "avatar" being used to describe the player's character in the video game caught on because in India the term is for the human incarnation of a god (Vishnu the Preserver). Just as Vishnu is still extant as a universe-preserving deity [when he is also incarnated into human or animal form] so to gamers have consciousness beyond the game and can be playing multiple characters in one game or multiple characters across different games.

In fact time "stops" when you are not playing a game but have saved the current state. Might be something there as well to model what is happening with our soul managing multiple incarnations.

Mere speculation, and I realize it gets a bit "ad hoc", just throwing some ideas out...

Although what you're speculating isn't only speculation but is the sort of thing that is reported as what actually happens by channelers, pre-birthers, etc.
