The most common dreams across borders according to Google-search data.

I've had the teeth falling out one once in my entire life as far as I remember. Don't remember a snake dream, but did dream last night of lightning-fast spidery insects that appeared and disappeared out of nowhere.

It's amazing to discover that people dream about snow in Iceland Smile

There seem to be an awful lot of snakes about. Whatever would Freud make of it all?

A great many of my dreams are about the sea, or more accurately, the region where land and sea meet. These are generally very uplifting and encouraging dreams for me.

Pregnancy is the dream of choice in the middle swath of Europe. That's odd to me - what about the men?

Of course this is only based on the most commonly searched dreams on Google, which is not the best metric for the most frequent dreams, just the ones people are curious about to do a search.

They dream of making them pregnant...sorry, bit vulgar but I couldn't resist (and not necessarily true at all)

My dreams are bizarre, the ones I remember, that is. All sorts of stuff, being chased (by lions) through the countryside is one that generally plagues me. Another is... I've been unfaithful to a girlfriend and I have anxiety that it's going to come out sooner or later (never really was BTW).

Moving on to ...I haven't done my homework (going to get in trouble) this one finally stopped after more than fifty years of it when I made a conscious decision to tell myself I left school more than 40 years ago. Dreamt that my father was still alive for years after his death decades ago until I got sick of waking up and realising (this one stopped)

Measuring quantities of some kind of stuff or objects for some unknown reason is another one which bugs me, wish it would stop.

I had a very interesting dream (a while back) where I was actually speaking fluent Italian (I know I was, because I was so surprised during the dream that I said to myself ...you can't speak Italian and then I immediately woke up.  That's only happened once and I cant speak Italian.

I don't remember having snake dreams, but last night I had an interesting lucid dream. I was walking on a path across yellow/green meadow. The path was paved with gravel. Suddenly a white shining mist formed and covered the path and meadow but its height was only about one foot. I realized that I was dreaming and I picked up a few small stones and squeezed them in my hands while I was walking and thinking that this is a dream. Everything was very bright and realistic and I started to think that this feels more like an astral projection than a dream and when we die we probably end up in a place like this. Then I woke up. I felt good and remembered that during the dream I thought that I was in a different version of my home city. It was as if I were in a familiar geographical location, but in a higher dimension.

I was surprised to see Falling in Water for S.Korea since they believe in symbolically precognitive dreams for pregnancy.

As an example, one woman dreamed of finding a clutch of golden eggs and takes three and then has three daughters.

Isn't that the classic premonition dream? Could be a coincidence, I suppose. My wife who doesn't believe in an afterlife has wonderful very vivid dreams of her dead relatives, not infrequently. I don't and I believe in an afterlife. I'm hoping her dreams are not a sign that she's on her way out.

Yeah it's possible these are coincidences, and I don't think S.Koreans necessarily see all these dreams as precognitive. Perhaps sometimes it's just a sign to take a pregnancy test.

Some do seem to be predictive but "symbolically" more than definitively. Like the dream of three eggs might just be a sign of how many children that mother wanted.

Regarding dreams of dead relatives, it could be seeking to send a message of some kind. I don't think it has to be a sign the dreamer themselves are near death?

No, she's had them for some time now. I think I may be on the way out, though. Two nights ago I woke up three times during the night and pressed the alarm clock to see what time it was (it has a light on it to illuminate the digital display ). The first two times exactly on my date of birth (last two digits). The third at 4.44 (am) which I believe is one of the codes for cardiac arrest....gulp Sad

Edit: Come back, I didn't mean to shut the thread down Wink

I liked Falling Water and the ideas it explored.
