LSD & ESP: Scientists Study Psychic Phenomena and Psychedelic Drugs

Of course another interpretation of at least some psychedelic experiences is that they are in reality actual glimpses of other realms of existence (some containing strange beings) separate and profoundly different from the afterlife realms that appear to be revealed by the paranormal experiences of NDEs, CORTs and mediumistic communications.

Remembered something that might point to this - NDEs seem to specifically say someone's time hasn't *yet* come, whereas IIRC at least a few DMT experiences involve entities that feel the experiencer is, in some sense, in the wrong place.

So NDEs may map to worlds we are "supposed" to cycle into, whereas DMT experiences may be places that are "foreign" in some sense.

OTOH there have been healing DMT experiences, and it seems there is at times a feeling of maternal love. @manjit & @Valmar may have more to say here since I've never taken psychedelics...

Can a new science bridge the gap between the noumena and the phenomena, the 1st person and the 3rd person perspective? A bit more provocatively: what is the relationship between physics, psychedelic experiences and shamanism? Glattfelder makes a plea for ‘syncretic idealism’: a worldview that synthesises ancient idealist texts and mystical experiences with physics, complexity science and analytic idealism. Syncretic idealism could lead to a scientific spirituality, a form of empirical mysticism that acknowledges a purposeful universe, wanting to know itself through ever increasing complexity.
