"It was crawling - at the back end of the corridor...."

During an investigation at the old Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum in West Virginia USA in 2016 Nick Groff, Katrina Weidman & their cameraman Rob Saffi got one of their most interesting captures. They do usually an 72 hours (3 days & night) stay at one place. Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum is an derelict asylum that has been closed since 1994. A little background, and the size of the place; It was constructed from 1858–1881. Originally designed to hold 250 people, it became overcrowded in the 1950s with 2,400 patients. It was forcibly closed in 1994 due to changes in patient treatment.
It's an immense building complex, with a long series of buildings, stories, corridors, stairs, and cells
.
They do their investigation and filming as this 3-piece (Nick, Rob, Katrina), and some hours in on their third night, up in one of the corridors, with cells, and cell doors opened, they were doing a generic shoot, with nothing really happening (as far as they could tell), and they were out in a corridor and Rob (filming with the main-camera) stood filming Nick & Katrina, and behind them was around 4-5 cells of open doors in the corridor, and at the back-end was just a flat wall. As they were filming, and Nick & Katrina was standing with their backs the end of the corridor when Rob  saw something through his nightvision camera some (I guess 10-15 meters) behind them. He alerted them, and Nick & Katrina didn't know what he was seeing (since they all stood in complete darkness). Rob wasn't sure was he saw at first, and when he alerted them, Nick almost went in front of the camera as Rob tried to get it (since Nick didn't know what he meant when Rob cried out).

Rob said that as he was just filming casually on Nick & Katrina talking, at the back end of the corridor, against the white wall he saw something, low dow , kinda crawling itself across the short-end of the corridor, on the floor. I guess he thought it was an animal of some sort...I dont know. But he said it looked like a snake/lizard-something going across the short-end of the corridor, from one side to the other
As I saw this the first time when they aired it it was really hard to see what he meant. It was dark, and even with the night-vision (that shows heat-signatures) it was hard to see the details.

But, in a later show of the evidence they had done an enhancement of the footage, and did a focus-shoot of what he captured, and I can say; it look fuckin creepy...and insane. What he captured was seen in night-vision so it must have been something with some kind of mass. But it looks surreal.

You can look at this first shoot, of when he reacts to what he initially saw. Here you see Rob alerts the others, and as he was filming, Katrina stood at the right, and as he yells out Nick steps in to the right of the frame  (because he dont know what Rob is talking about), and he almost ruin the shot. night-vision.

You can see the initial footage below when he cries out he say he saw something. When you look at this footage its kinda hard to see what he means;

It is kinda hard to see what he means. You can see something at the floor reflecting "white-light" back, but it hard to differentiate - but it is something moving across..
Well, in a later show when they were showing many of their finds in other investigations, they had done some cleaning up of this particular footage, and I made a GIF of that short clip, so you can see it in a loop. Look especially at the last few seconds, as it shows, whatever it is, lift its limbs, both back and forth, as it "crawls". It is freaky...

Here is the link to the GIF-clip - (and click on the two-pointing arrows at the right lower corner of the clip so you can watch it in full-screen) >> https://streamable.com/idi7b - and watch it over and over again

It is really the last few milli-seconds, when you see "IT" moves its limbs forth as it crawls, it looks like a humanoid crawling across - like a person crawling on the floor.

It does look creepy...

Yeah you can see it better through that GIF, although I had to look at the clip first at the point where they put the arrow in to see where to look. Whatever it is, it's weird.

BTW, Pollux, great to hear from you. Smile  I was starting to worry! Hope you've been well.

Yep, same here. It's very hard to make out, even in the GIF. The arrow was helpful in getting a handle on where to look. Great job in making it more visible though, Pollux (sincerely intended, in case it comes across as sarcasm).

Yes. The final moments of the clip which Pollux mentioned, where it's moving - it looks to me like a human crawling (to the left). It's very creepy.

Ditto. G'day Pollux, glad to have you back, whether temporarily or for a more extended period!

Once you've said that, Laird, that's what I now see as well, or human-shape-looking anyway.

Inconclusive and I've seen better evidence.
I think my question would be whether whatever algorithm they used to enhance the footage could have made random noise look more like a coherent moving object. Looking at the non-enhanced footage, it does seem like quite a noisy signal.

So, as you said, it was a bit hard to see what they meant, and the clip was a bit dark (even in the first-loop video i put up).

I took the clip and just enhanced the lightning a bit, so now I hope you can see it a bit better. And, as I said before, you HAVE to click the double-arrows in the right-hand corner to get a full-screen view of the clip.So look at it>>> https://streamable.com/idi7b

Their is no kinda doubt that there is a humanoid figure crawling along the floor, and as I said before; in the last few milli-seconds, you see it doing - like what a person would do crawling - its body goes down for a bit, and then the right arm, and left leg rises along with the body, as it crawls across. You see its head, body-figure, both left and right arm - and you even see the curvature of one of its foot.

Have a look at this still shot >>
