Hello! Seeking I

What a fun thread.  Hi Darren, welcome to the show.  I'm a Christian myself, but don't let that put you off.   We're quite an assorted bunch and we sometimes like to glare at each other with fierce daggers, but we usually get along fine afterwards.  I'm just thankful that we are all human.   I look forward to your contributions.

Welcome Darren.  Read around the myriad (and I do mean MYRIAD) of "Please debunk this sceptic for me" threads that Omni has started.  Sci has tirelessly tried to help him up to the point of exasperating himself (my interpretation).  I must admit that while I feel for Omni's plight, there seems no way to actually help him.  I'm afraid he ultimately must help himself via "offline" resources to lessen his own angst.  Reason being there is an inexhaustible supply of sceptic content one can look for to perpetuate their own affliction.

I agree. There isn’t a magic key and Sci has made a real effort to help. It’s the search for a certainty perhaps that we’d probably all like,  but I suspect the best strategy is to learn to be content with degrees of uncertainty. IMHO it’s an exercise in assessing what’s likely on the balance or probabilities. 

Where I agree with (I think) sci particularly is the search for an unequivocal personal experience. It may never happen but the search will add more evidence to the mix. It could be a long journey though and at the end of it, it may not be convincing to anyone else.

Expecting to reach agreement with people who have committed themselves to the reverse is destined to fail. Along the way though keeping an open mind may lead to a solid foundation for a personal opinion. 

There is no categorical refutation of “pseudo sceptical” arguments that is universally effective as far as I know.

Secondly, to Sci and concerned others: Darren registered with an email address on his domain seeking-i.com, and in the process of registration confirmed that that email address belongs to him. The website at that domain links to his YouTube account, which in turn links back to his website, so there's no doubt that we have the real deal on our forum.

And whatever happened with Hehexd1?

With that I'm going to drop this, because I see there's little point in going on with it. But I do admit I resent the implication by some that I am off my rocker.

Without naming names as that would be crass I'll just note I'm not the only person who has had serious doubts about some of the recent joiners that claim to be proponents but whose threads give undo weight to skeptics and even present their misrepresentations as facts.

I agree with your implication that (s)he was/is questionable. (S)he never responded to my challenge to identify him/herself either. Last visited three days ago.

That's fine, and I get where you're coming from. Do you accept though that Omni and Darren have provided a reasonable degree of evidence of their identity outside of the forum?
