I tend to agree with you there, Raf. Mediumship has it's share of frauds but I do believe there have been and still are plenty of genuine mediums, but it's not something I'm particularly interested in.

Yes, I've definitely had times when I've longed for oblivion, Typoz. Getting through it (with great difficulty) led me to some things I wouldn't have wanted to miss that I could never, ever have foreseen coming.

Yes, taking a longer term view, I had some rough times, then some kind of so-so not very interesting ones. But after that, lots of surprisingly good things, I would not have believed possible.

It's hard to explain this stuff to anyone who is going through a tough time. I don't think I'd even have listened to my future self. But somehow even though I would not have agreed at the time, those difficulties were over in the blink of an eye, viewed from a longer perspective.

I've found the Beischel studies on mediumship very interesting. Can't say they are a proof, but surely the blinding process looked solid.

My suggestion for exploring mediumship is hands on - I'd read a lot of back and forth but really trying to find mediums I think is the only way to settle this for one's self.

So far I've only had one experience I'd say was [closest to] definitely convincing, mostly because we "blinded" the process by only myself purchasing the tickets.

My next stop is Lillydale, the town of Spiritualists...

i plan to contact one someday, but here in italy there area lot of frauds and it is very hard to get some reviews about the work of the good ones.

Oh I agree, it is hard not only b/c of deliberate frauds but also people who seem to give some people incredible readings and others mediocre to inaccurate ones.

My hope is to make it to Lillydale and receive some very compelling messages, and will let the board know if it works out.
