“Realer than this life” perception during an NDE

Interestingly enough, I came across an article , I believe on TMZ , of all places , referencing an interview from an actor I am not familiar with, talking about his experience of taking ayahuasca twice in his life , and it causing him to become a Christian, becuz he believes he literally saw hell and met Jesus .

All of these varied accounts but people saying how real it is , and how they just “know.”

I might point out that the ayahuasca drug experience is not on an even keel with veridical NDErs and their experiencing of "realer than real" existence and consciousness. The crucial difference is that in the NDEs typically the brain is dysfunctional and therefore couldn't support generated consciousness (implying separation from the brain and body as some sort of mobile center of consciousness), whereas in the psychoactive drug experience case the brain is very much active and capable of generating any sort of hallucination. They both may experience what seems "realer than real" and they both may feel that now they just "know" the truth, but the likelihood of this "knowledge" really being the spiritual truth is much greater with the NDEr since we have veridical evidence of non-hallucinatory OBEs, especially into some sort of spiritual realm.
