The UFO/UAP coverup continues

It looks like the DOD intelligence community and other elements in government continue to cover up key information on UAPs/UFOs, this time an incident that occured just last year.

From https://www.theblackvault.com/documentar...att-gaetz/ :

Quote:"Newly released documents obtained through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) by software engineer and UAP researcher Abbas Michael Dharamsey have unveiled details of a mysterious Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon (UAP) sighting that occurred on January 26, 2023. The incident, which was first brought to public attention during a UAP hearing in Congress, involved a U.S. Air Force pilot encountering four separate UAPs during a test mission over the Gulf of Mexico. The documents have been verified by The Black Vault.

Congressman Matt Gaetz, who played a pivotal role in revealing this incident to the public, recounted his experience in seeking information about the event. Gaetz described how he, along with other Congress members, was initially denied access to crucial evidence, including images and radar data. However, following a discussion on authority, they were granted access to an image captured by one of the flight crew members, depicting an object unlike any known human-made technology."

DECLASSIFIED SUMMARY:

Quote:On 26 Jan 23, an USAF pilot gained radar lock on four separate UAP. Upon approach, the pilot was able
to make visual contact and employ sensors to obtain a screen capture of the first of these objects. The
remaining three were only detected by radar.
UAP-1 likened to an "Apollo spacecraft" in size and shape, with an "orange-reddish" illuminated
rounded bottom and the top section "a three-dimensional cone shape" comprising "gunmetal gray
segmented panels."
UAP-1 operated at an altitude of about 16,000 above ground level (AGL). The second and third UAPs
were noted at altitudes of 17,000 and 18,000. The fourth was lost from radar and no altitude was
noted. Moreover, no airspeeds were noted for any of the UAP in this report.
Of note, upon closing to within 4,000 feet of UAP-1, the radar malfunctioned and remained disabled for
the remainder of the event. Post-mission investigation revealed that a circuit breaker had triggered, but
that maintenance technicians were unable to conclusively diagnose the fault.

The documents also include a drawing of the UAP, providing a visual representation of only a part of the pilot’s encounter.

However, a responsive video related to the incident was withheld in full under Exemption (b)(1), which protects information deemed critical to national defense or foreign policy and properly classified under an Executive order.

When there are so many people who like to jerk the knee and jump to paranormal conclusions, I don't blame them if they do cover things up.
Actually there’s lots of UFO related news today:

Quote:A wide-ranging Pentagon review of decades of U.S. government investigations into UFO sightings has found no evidence that any of the sightings were extraterrestrial in origin and also found no evidence that the U.S. government or private companies have ever possessed extraterrestrial technology that has been secretly reverse-engineered.

Quote:AARO has found no verifiable evidence that the U.S. government or private industry has ever had access to extraterrestrial technology,' he added. "AARO has found no indications that any information was illegally or inappropriately withheld from Congress."

"AARO assesses that alleged hidden UAP programs either do not exist, or were misidentified authentic national security programs unrelated to extraterrestrial technology exploitation," said Phillips. "We assess that claims of such hidden programs are largely the result of circular reporting in which a small group of individuals have repeated inaccurate claims they have heard from others over a period of several decades."

And this report should obviously be the last word in the parody. Sadly I suspect it won’t.

An excellent letter to the editor about this Pentagon "review" or debunking coverup exercise, which I don't think needs to be rephrased at all:

Quote:"This article, and the Pentagon report which is its subject are pure poppycock.  The Pentagon investigating its own secret Special Access Programs is tantamount to Richard Nixon investigating his own criminal activities in Watergate.  That the  All Domain Anomaly Resolution Office, AARO,  is a debunking operation, is well known by all serious  UFO researchers.  (Of whom I am not one.) Many whistleblowers went to AARO, and their stories were buried; meanwhile, the office claimed it heard no evidence of any credible interaction with UFOs.  This is well documented- look up award-winning journalist George Knapp for more.

This article ignores the mountains of evidence of the reality of the phenomenon over the 70+ years UFOs have been widely witnessed.  It also ignores copious documentary evidence of a cover-up by the Pentagon and Intelligence Agencies. See Richard Dolan, UFOs and the National Security State, just for starters.

The witnesses before the Congressman Oversight Committee were men of impeccable integrity, professional aviation and military servicemen who know what they are seeing.  Congressman Burchett may be a Republican, but he is not using UFOs as an anti-government crusade . There are easier and more credible ways to do that.  He and his associates (some of whom are Democrats) happen to know that something which our physics and our military budget cannot account for is going on."

Can't say for sure what's going on, and I definitely remain skeptical about crashed vehicles being recovered...but yeah this has the same stink as Randi's fraudulent/manipulative challenge...

Those believing in conspiracy cover ups will endlessly come up with new loopholes. There are no (physical) aliens but people will not give up their beliefs - no matter what evidence being presented for them.

I would agree that at this point Grusch at least is not credible, but @nbtruthman has continuously noted the lack of evidence that any modern technology has depended on reverse engineered spacecraft.

That said if the Pentagon - or any country's military arm - said that they have committed no war crimes in the last decade...would anyone believe that?

Same with Big Pharma investigating and clearing themselves, or the Church and pedophiles, etc.

I too find much of the "nuts & bolts" claims about physical aliens getting to mental gymnastics when it comes to supposed crashes being covered up but I also cannot take this kind of self-reporting in good faith...

Point taken, it’s not ideal when some entity are clearing themselves. But I’m under the impression that Pentagon is an enormous entity in the american nation. It’s probably not realistic that some external agency could make such an investigation. So the matter will probably never be settled to everyones satisfaction. I suspect this UFO wave is about to die out anyway but it will probably reemerge in a few decades.

On what basis? Just curious.

Back to you. And please don't cite the recently released Pentagon report as "evidence".
