OK, but Twitter is also guilty of censoring information.

How does a Twitter space differ from what we have here?

Yes, I have both. Though I prefer to use a computer, more convenient in so many ways.

But it isn't a technical issue, just that I tend not to do voice or video online, maybe it's a privacy thing.

We too - I want this to be a private discussion as far as possible (I am sure MI5 could crack our real identities in an instant). In a world where the idea of a non-physical reality is considered seriously weird, I'd rather most of those who know me, do not have access to my writings here.

I was a bit more careless when I joined Skeptiko, and now wish I hadn't used my real name there, although it is a common one.

LOL It will need more than just the two of us...so far the rest seem rather less than enthusiastic...
We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.

Sorry Max, I'm not deliberately being awkward. Give it a few days and see what others say. I think you have good ideas. Maybe something will emerge.

I hadn't expected Skeptiko to become so divisive. This forum would probably end up the same way, except that it doesn't do politics. Alex has made Skeptiko very political because he wants to explore the nature of evil. I had very little opportunity to steer Skeptiko in a better direction, even though I was the main moderator.

I also post from time to time on a blog devoted to a totally different subject. Someone managed to link me back to Skeptiko and tried to make a fuss over my being too 'woo woo'.

I would advise people to keep their real life separate from their forum life unless they carefully think out the possible consequences.

Years ago, maybe 15-20 years back, I shared some personally identifying stuff on a forum. That wasn't a controversial topic, just mundane stuff. But after a while I decided I was uncomfortable even with mundane stuff being public, where it was so identifiable.

I use vagueness a lot more nowadays. Mostly a different username on each site, especially so if I'm just lurking.

There are no particular consequences which bother me, I'm not worried about damage to my credibility or anything. It's some other reason. Perhaps to do with past-life issues (more than a century ago) rather than present day.
One of my friends, who is particularly interested in apparitions, is up for contributing to a twitter space (if we can get the timing right). So that's one extra person LOL
