Interesting interview with Rupert Sheldrake talking about Jordan Peterson and other things.

I do agree with some of what Jordan Peterson says.

This for instance :

marginalised groups are infantilised by a culture of victimhood and offence-taking; political correctness threatens freedom of thought and speech; ideological orthodoxy undermines individual responsibility.

Now some members  may find that offensive. My gut feeling is that he's right but I''m not getting into an argument about it. Interesting video, Stan thanks for posting.

The problems with P.C. always struck me as self evident. But i have to wonder if making a big deal about it isn't putting at least one foot on the victim platform.
Having written that,my career is in construction. About as far away from academic  culture  as one can get.

I am in one of those supposed "minority groups" and I could write an entire essay on how much I vehemently despise PC culture, especially modern day feminism given that it is the sole cult  that does the most harm to women. That's a whole beast of it's own, though. Just wanted to show support.
Spirits are not special and neither are you.

That's nice to hear, Dreamsoap. My brief thoughts on this are that we have to evolve and advance naturally, without overbearing coercion from simplistic legislation and what would amount to the policing of people's thoughts.

Imagine a government that tried to iron out every human personality flaw by a little "law" here...and a bit of necessary "jurisdiction" there...and then declaring paradise on earth has been established ...enjoy .  I can imagine that being worse than living in North Korea but there are a legion of zealots in the UK trying to push us in that direction.

I would love that - as long as it is on my own terms  Big Grin
