Agreed.  I tend to think that all logical arguments either for or against the existence of God are small pieces of a big puzzle, but in themselves fall short of proof.  The best one can do is try to find that which seems most likely and then take the risk one way or another.  I think that is what we all do anyway.  Whether one believes that the existence of God is desirable or undesirable plays a big part in how we filter and interpret evidence, no matter how objective we think we are being.  The ontological argument does seem more absurd than most though.
