"Stevenson's view is transphobic, therefore definitely wrong!" Another "scientific" "rationalist" who can't think her way out of a paper bag.

AFAIK Stevenson had no political agenda when he posited that reincarnation may explain why someone feels there's a mismatch between soul and body in specific regard to sex/gender.

I have a personal aversion to people bringing in politics into everything - as Watson does which you are right to challenge - but I think it is important to note Stevenson died before certain ideas about sex/gender became mainstream.

As such I think accusing Stevenson of any kind of prejudice here, or really any hard position on such matters, is grossly unfair regardless of how one feels about current political issues.
'Historically, we may regard materialism as a system of dogma set up to combat orthodox dogma...Accordingly we find that, as ancient orthodoxies disintegrate, materialism more and more gives way to scepticism.'

I agree. One of the more repulsive things that people of Watson's ilk frequently get up to is this casual smearing of anyone they dislike, which ends up being most people, trying to destroy reputations and assassinate characters on the thinnest grounds, which they have not the slightest compunction about doing. This despite the fact that they're the most shrill moralizing scolds you'll ever have the misfortune to encounter, finding fault everywhere else as they themselves act in these disgusting and inhumane ways.

But, as you correctly understood, in my post I was taking issue with another one of Watson's hypocrisies: pretending to impeccable rationality while indulging in transparently fallacious reasoning any time it suits her, especially of the moralistic kind.
