I agree that skeptiko itself isn’t really a reliable source, but I do think that Dr. Jeffrey Long is. He appears to be an extremely accomplished physician who happens to have studied NDE’s and noticed how materialist arguments fall short in explaining NDE’s in their entirety. I don’t believe his input should be swept under the rug. I also agree with you that they should be detectable on EEG readings, and so far Dr. Parnia has not found that.
What is my purpose in life de geso...?

I think it has to be a red flag that Long said the congenitally blind didn't have rapid eye movements. It's not just a question of one recent study showing that they do. As far as I can see, that's been known since at least the 1960s:

Why not email him and tell him that ? He's always very approachable, at least I've found him so.

It's been twelve years since he he made that error. Someone must have pointed it out to him already.

Dr Sam Parnia was also interviewed on Skeptiko. So that invalidates everything he says too?

...and Pim Van Lommel, y Chris Carter, y Ray Moody, and every NDE investigator in the world. So, that comment about Skeptiko not being reliable source is a bit weird.

I don't think skeptico is a good source. They edit the interviews and make them in a way to always bias things in pro-paranormal ways. Jeff Long isn't reliable as this REM intrusion idea in the blind was know, yet he denies it.

Excuse me, this is a shitty and disgusting accusation based on hearsay and pure conjecture. Don't spew this bullshit unless you can prove it. Put up or shut up. Don't you fucking dare accuse Alex of indecent modus operandi . Got it? Fucking revolting. Most of Us follow Alex for many years and know what he is like.
Told you guys this dude was a phony.
