Louis Vuitton hired a shaman to stop the rain for fashion show

Quote:Luxury brand Louis Vuitton hired a shaman to prevent rain from marring the brand’s recent over-the-top show in the south of France.

Sources tell Page Six that while the guru had also been hired to tame the weather at previous shows around the world, skeptical execs at parent company LVMH had recently axed the jet-setting holy man from the budget.

But when a downpour unfashionably soaked an outdoor Dior show last week in Chantilly, France, the shaman was back on the payroll for Louis Vuitton’s fashion show at the Fondation Maeght, near Antibes, this week.

Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones uses a magic stick before outdoor shadows to prevent rain when the weather looks "dodgey".

Quote:"The stick is a very superstitious thing," Keith says in Ole Ole Ole, a new documentary charting the group's tour of Latin America. "If it's about to rain or if you're playing outdoors and someone goes 'Keith, it's raining', if I don't go outside and do a few mysterious movements it would disappoint the whole crew. They rely upon this stick to stop the rain - and the weird thing is that it works."

However he does admit that the band sometimes have to put up with downpours, adding, "The rain stick is not infallible."

We should all have one of those, Ian. I'm surprised somebody hasn't seen the potential Wink Just as an aside, I wonder if it helps to keep him alive because that's what baffles me about him the most. How is he not dead yet ? Still, glad he isn't.

They played in Southampton on Tuesday, and the weather was announcing rain with a high degree of certainty, but it didn't. Did the rain stick work?

They're playing Coventry today, in not too many hours from now.

He is only 74, not that old!  LOL

All joking aside, it could be that having a purpose and a 'future' i.e touring, new albums, allows people like keef richards to feel like they have something more to 'finish' or do, whilst still in their physical bodies. Assuming that materialism is false of course  Wink .

When I was younger, diverdown, I never could have imagined that the Stones would even still be alive as far down the line as this, never mind still performing. The substances he must have consumed would be enough to kill me 10 times over. He doesn't even get any beauty sleep (as we can deduct from his face bless him) ...he just crashes wherever he finds himself according to some journalists. It's a mystery. Or maybe it's that stick.

I forgot about that aspect! Yeah, pretty interesting given that the amount of 'substances' enjoyed over his lifetime would surely have an effect on his longevity!

Perhaps it's genes, mind over matter, along with what-money-can-buy medical care/alternative therapies (plus stick) that contributes to Mr Keef's rock and roll long standing in the game!  Big Grin

Could be, diverdown but I think the only rational explanation is that (magic) stick. Wink I need to get myself one.

Back when I was first trying to put my ideas of magic into practice and hadn't suffered all the mental and emotional nonsense that came from it I had quite a bit of success with local weather control. I found it was extremely easy to induce large scale, chronic weather effects but very hard to induce small scale, acute effects. Which kinda goes against what one would think would be common sense. You'd expect small effects to be easier.

My method was to induce small pressure drops that the environment would naturally fill and chain these together to increase momentum until the local wind pattern was totally changed. But I had to work with whatever the local wind was since I lacked the raw power to just brute force the difference. Slowly changing the existing flow until it was what I wanted. depending on various factors bright sunny days could be changed to thunderstorms or vice versa in 20 minutes to an hour. Although I was completely dependant on what was actually in the environment. For example if there just wasn't enough moisture in the air then I wasn't going to be able to make it rain since I'd have to gather a bunch of moisture first which could take a long time and a lot of energy. Or if the pressure systems were particularly stubborn and supported by other systems elsewhere then I might not be able to change them in time.

I've planned on writing up a proper post about this and everything else that went into the development of the Weaver System for awhile but I thought this bit might be worth posting here.
