All I currently see for those is stuff that I can't interpret, such as "<anonymous>", "i", "fireWith", etc.
This is the information it gives when I click on the original error message. It opens up and provides this information. As far as I can see there is nothing else available.

OK, don't click on the error message: just quote the error message itself (to the far left) as well as the associated source file+line+position (to the far right). You've provided all of this already, just not in the same posts!

It’s identical to the first line with anonymous in it. There is nothing more to give you Laird

I did attempt to cut the screen dump’s out, but a Windows 10 update at the weekend appears to have disagreed with my PC, and now I can’t save new files from some programs... I’ve spent all evening backing up my files, programs and licences... before I try more drastic action.

No, sorry.
I tried a couple of different browsers and two different PCs, one was a bit outdated, the other has an up-to-date version of Firefox on windows 8.1. I didn't dig any deeper, though I tried non-Firefox browsers too, without success (not sure if it was chrome or opera, I use both from time to time, but firefox regularly). Sorry this is a bit vague, it wasn't a priority for me at the time.

No worries, thanks for the feedback. From what Max has shared it could be a bug in the Javascript, but why it affects only some browsers on some computers is still a mystery, and I don't yet have enough info to debug in detail.

I don't think so. To be honest, I've forgotten what the expected behaviour was supposed to be, having never actually seen it in the first place. But I don't think there's any change.
One thing I did check today, in the 'browser console' in Firefox, on loading a forum page, the message is shown:
Code:
TypeError: MyBBEditor.sourceMode is not a function
(firefox 59 on win 8.1).
(That's before any user interaction with the page).

I think I've got a rough idea of what's going on, but let's see... please tell me, when you go to Edit Options in your User Control Panel and look under "Thread View Options", is the "Show the quick reply box on the view thread page" checkbox checked or unchecked, and does this quick-quote function start working when you toggle it?
