I have, some time ago. Now everything is OK... for now.

I have been experiencing this on and off for the past few days.

I press the ‘button’ and then wait for at least a minute or two until I reach the next ‘step’. It’s only this site that’s so affected.
Oh my God, I hate all this.   Surprise

It's a server issue Steve. I think for the moment we've decided to let it be and see how the situation evolves over the next months, unless it gets really worse. It seems to be a problem only at very short periods of time. If it continues after or worsens, we'll consider changing servers.

Have posted an update on the situation, with a list of periods in various local time zones during which response times can fairly reliably be predicted to be at their worst, in the original thread.

The forum is unusually slow loading today for me. Anybody else?

Today has still been very slow for me.
Are you guys still experiencing this slowness? I haven't experienced it, except perhaps on one page load. It doesn't seem to be the same problem as before as the number of database connections is low.
It's back to normal for me - it was only on those two days where I posted. It wasn't my internet connection or my browser because all the other tabs were reloaded without difficulty.

Maybe one of the other sites on our shared server had a lot of traffic or was misconfigured on those days - we already know that Hostgator's systems to mitigate resource contention are imperfect.
