The Magonia Review has a review by John Rimmer of two recent books by David Paul, entitled "Illustrated Tales of Lancashire" and "Illustrated Tales of Cheshire." They include folklore, ghost stories and historical incidents that have passed into folklore:

I think you meant for one of those Lancashires to be Cheshire.
