Quote:Essentia Foundation's Natalia Vorontsova interviews psychiatrist and author Dr. Iain McGilchrist about his new work, "The Matter with Things," and the role of consciousness in nature.

'Historically, we may regard materialism as a system of dogma set up to combat orthodox dogma...Accordingly we find that, as ancient orthodoxies disintegrate, materialism more and more gives way to scepticism.'

Thanks Sci for that link. I started off fairly interested, but then he became very enthusiastic about panpsychism, and I wanted to try to get in touch with him to pose my usual objection to panpsychism in relation to QM or QFT. Then I discovered that he charges a fee to join his forum and (hopefully) to him ask questions!

His style of discussion reminded me rather of a vicar giving a sermon. I heard a lot of sermons as a kid!

We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.
