Hey all,
I recently had a disturbing sleep experience last night that might be of interest to the forum members.
In any event, I was apparently feeling quite disturbed and uneasy. I don't know if any of you have had this, where you are teetering in that state between awake and dreaming, and you slowly become aware that something is wrong. Well this happened to me and I have a bit of experience in this state, and it doesn't really scare me as much anymore, until something really frightened the bejesus out of me!
As I was in this state, I became aware of the usual feelings of fear and I usually deal with it by letting it pass and not identifying with it. This works 99% of the time, and I usually wake up, conscious of what happened, but not actually frightened by it. On this occasion however, that this was all happening, things (vision, if you will) became much more clearer than usual and I 'seen' a bloody entity tap me on the back repeatedly, along with something clearly tapping on my feet, which were exposed from under the cover (yes, everyones worst nightmare!).
Now I have to stress, the actual feeling of being tapped and touched was very very clear. It was as physical as if someone were to do it to you in real life. I have never experienced this before and I woke up in a state of shock and in genuine fear and bewilderment. On goes the light and obviously nothing is there. But it sure scared the **** out of me! This comes about a week or two after I hear my name being called very clearly and loudly in the room, as if there was actually someone there.
I'm always surprised that the brain can create these type of events, but then not signal in some manner, that it is just a hallucination. How can the brain trick itself? What is the point? For me, that is an extremely interesting question of why that is. But anyhow, glad to share and hope some of you might be able to share similar stories!
