Coma Reality

This always struck me as a real disturbing narrative, and one I can't wrap my head around. It was on Reddit several years ago, and somebody even made a fictional story or a "creepypasta" about it. It definitely reads like one: https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.reddit....by_a_lamp/

However, past being a mind blowing story, I think there is much reason to be very skeptical of it actually being true. First off, with all the studying on dreams, consciousness, and brain function I have never heard of a experience like it before or since. I know time dilation in dreams can be very extreme, but this is ridiculous!

Plus, to echo the mantra of pseudoskeptics but in an actually relevant context, an ancedote is far from effective on it's own when it comes to turning over things. On Reddit, liars and trolls are a dime a dozen. This guy was very likely to be one. Pops up with a well written story, answers questions, and then drops off the face of the Earth.

And if it was true, at this point it is just as likely that this guy was visiting a parallel timeline or reality compared to it being a hallucination. At that, it really isn't that relevant to the question of consciousness, but it is really does put you in a inception mindset. Plus, I wondered if anybody else knew about this story

I wasn't aware of it, but I also seem to remember (I could be misremembering) somebody who had NDEs who recounted living an entire other life in another dimension.

Andy Paquette describes dreams like this (he refers to them as “big dreams”) in his book “Dreamer”. Some take place over an even longer period of time than this guys’.

I've had 3 like this, none for as long as a year though. And now I know there are others who have, too.
