For 13 years my (now) wife and I have been casually observing all manner of weird and unexplained phenomena together. Being methodical and inquisitive I have been cataloging the events in an attempt to produce a universal theory as to their cause.  Shortly after meeting we experienced a rash of "poltergeist" activity at her home where she lived alone. Locked, dead bolted doors sprang to life opening exactly 3" over and over again. Suspecting wacko neighbors I replaced the locks but to no avail. We moved but so did the weirdness. Locked doors continued to open though with much reduced frequency, LOUD banging on the side of the house was the calling card of this home. Our next home was much quieter, only two door incidents however one evening my neighbor caught me standing in my back yard staring up at the sky. "What are you looking at?" he inquired, "Oh that big crappy oak tree, it drops tons of acorns, leaves and debris. I wanna take it down but it's huge and it's leaning toward our new workshop" was my reply. We mused about how we could perhaps lasso it and bring it down with minimal casualties  then went our separate ways. The next day I came home for lunch to discover my huge, crappy oak tree lying in a heap in the back yard. It had somehow snapped about 3 feet or so up and landed perfectly behind our workshop. We recently moved again into a home that my wife adored but I did not. Weeks passed and I began to wonder why she pushed for a house on such a busy street in such a low class area. I pondered one morning at work how we could get the hell out of this awful neighborhood without loosing our shirts and how to convince her of our mistake. The following day my wife asks me if I had finally found a home for the gigantic 12" compound miter saw that had been hastily placed on the garage floor by the mud room door when we moved in. I had not done anything with it and we both went out to it's last know location to find it had vanished. A few days of tearing the new house apart as well as my father's basement where maybe 4 or 5 large particularly useless articles had be stored revealed no saw. we concluded that it had been stolen by one of our scummy neighbors since no friends had confessed to borrowing it either. Feeling violated and angry my wife agreed that raising our little kids here would be a terrible mistake so 2 months later we sold the house and moved into a modest home in a wonderful, quiet neighborhood that we all love. Last night I ventured into my father's basement to forage for the last item or two left behind from the previous move. There in the corner of the basement by the oil tank I see my big green saw, blade shining in the light. The saw was clean as a whistle, cord loosely wound around it's motor on the floor in a spot I had walked, stood or foraged dozens of times before over the past 5 months.   The only patterns I can see so far are that the events and there are many, many others, seem to be precipitated by stress and emotionally charged moments. Which lends credence to the law of attraction and quantum theory. Still very startling to observe.
