Psience Quest is now available through the Tapatalk app for maximum mobile-friendliness:

I see other forums using Tapatalk that makes forums a lot more smart phone-friendly.

Does anyone know what it would take to make this forum accessible on that app?

It looks like we'd install a MyBB Tapatalk plugin and then create a Tapatalk account and activate our forum via that account (by clicking on the "Get Started" button here).

Shall we give it a go? I don't know much about the pros and cons.

One con seems to be that unless we pay $5/month, members accessing the forum via the Tapatalk mobile app would be subjected to advertising (which we would have no control over, so it wouldn't even necessarily be relevant advertising).

Personally I don't see that as a problem (I mean not paying and therefore getting advertising). Members can choose if they use the mobile app or not. I now have access to a mobile phone at work and I really would like it. It makes both reading and posting a lot easier. The advertising feels rather minimal and unobtrusive to me.

Here's a review of the app and what it can look like:

How about I install the extension and you register the Tapatalk account and configure it as preferred? :-)

Done! The rest is in your hands!
Spawn of the Devil is Tapatalk, I, like a lot of people wont use it, the constant nagging to install the app when visiting a forum site on my mobile is terrible. I leave immediately. I just won’t use sites that use it. The forced advertising is often used as a way to launch an attack on people’s phones. Sorry, but I think this is a very very bad idea, if implemented like it is on other forum sites.

Max, if it's optional for members, then why is it a bad idea? Why is greater choice a negative?
