Superhuman: The Invisible Made Visible

My family actually suggested watching this seemingly after being somewhat impressed with Surviving Death. It was pretty good personally, the only thing that one of them felt went too far was the whole blind people seeing with their mind part. Ironically one was skeptical about the idea that pupil dilation was related to emotion or emotional excitation. It reminded me of trials I used to do by playing FPS games and attempting to feel the environment as a way of training my intuition. I'm thinking I should do that again since one of the best ways to train this stuff is "competitive" practical application. Anyways if anyone else has opinions of the documentary this is the place to share them.

Watched it almost to the end last night, have about 20 minutes left. I liked it...though I am not sure what to make of it heh.

The basic idea, an appeal to the public to take a chance and try to develop their own Psi abilities, is great. Reading First Sight that connects Psi to intuition and creativity, I was also think it makes a lot of sense to talk about Psi can help people in their actual lives rather than be some proof of mysticism alone.

Why I also liked Radin beginning to look into occult/esoteric practice and how Psi is used there.

And for those reasons, as a kind of call to power, I get why the experiments were done with "amateurs". But I also kind of wish that they'd used some experienced Psi practitioners who've at least claimed to get really good hits in the past.

I also have to admit, perhaps unfairly, that it was really hard for me to believe the kids weren't cheating in some way despite having been told and read about much more amazing feats.

I'll say a bit more once I watch the last 20 mins.

Good stuff, I especially like the part where the woman with poor eyesight at least seems to be helped by Psi training.

I remember Ethan, who posted on Skeptiko, once said one of the few ways there will be a transition is if lots of people have Psi experiences.

I think this sort of video, asking people to take a chance against their feeling this is all "silly nonsense" or whatever, will hopefully be part of that.
