This is a thread for miscellaneous strange creatures and beings, whether to share reports of encounters, investigations, or any other resources.

We already have threads for general resources on bigfoot (Bigfoot / Yeti / Abominable Snowman thread) and for sightings of cryptids more broadly (Cryptozoological accounts and sightings).

This thread can cover the gaps not covered by those threads:

1. General resources on cryptids beyond accounts and sightings.
   
2. Accounts, sightings, and general resources of creatures and beings that are not necessarily cryptids, but strange in some way.
   

I'll kick it off with two references, the first fitting gap type #1 and the second fitting gap type #2.

The Anatomy Of A Hoax: Unraveling The Mystery Behind The X-Ray and Lab Tests On A Mystery Creature

Ricardo Rangel further explains:

“…The legs and the feet are one normal feature on the Metepec Creature. However, the other creature has another feature, the wings. We have an X.Ray of the creature and we can see the structure of the bones.”

“…No, this is not a hoax, it was not made from a mold. We have a sample of the tissue from this creature that we sent to a DNA molecular laboratory, but when the laboratory tried sequencing the DNA they found it was not in accordance with DNA from the mammals or another creature… there is no match with DNA creatures related with a mammal…” —Ricardo Rangel Ph.D.

I have no idea what to make of this, nor of the reliability of the site hosting this article. It could well be a hoax. I can't find other references to it beyond fringe-looking sites. Make of it what you will.

The Mystery of the Sandown Clown: Britain’s Answer to Bigfoot

The entity that Fay and her friend had discovered in the fields was close to seven feet tall, its head wedged upon its shoulders. It wore a yellow pointed hat, with a black spherical knob at the tip and wooden antennae attached to the sides. The hat was attached to the red collar of a green tunic. Protruding from its sleeves and white trouser legs were what are described in the BUFORA Journal only as “wooden slats.” Its facial features consisted of a brown nose, triangular shapes for eyes, and motionless yellow lips. There were further round markings over its cheeks and across its pallid white forehead, a few wisps of brown hair.

The children enquired if it were a man, as its voice and appearance possibly indicated. “No,” it chuckled. “Are you a ghost, then?” they asked. “Not really,” it replied, “but I am, in an odd sort of way.” The children, unsatisfied, pressed on. “Well, what are you, then?” they asked. Its response to them seemed strange and gnomic. “You know,” smiled the entity.

Stay Out of the Ohio River!

While the children played on the shore, Naomi swam out about 15 feet. Suddenly, she felt an enormous furry, clawed hand grab her left leg from beneath the water! It managed to pull her under, but she squirmed free. She resurfaced and managed to scream before the creature grabbed her again and pulled her under.

One week later, another strange incident would occur. On Sunday, August 21, 1955, a family in Kentucky were victims to a siege of "little green men," which would come to be known in the ufology field as the Kelly-Hopkinsville Little Green Men incident. The little creatures, believed to have ascended from a UFO spotted in the area, terrorized the family's property for hours. Their description, especially that of their long, webbed fingers with sharped claws, immediately resonated with Naomi when she read the story in her local paper. In a later news article, Naomi reiterates that the arms of the creature must have been long to have grabbed her the way they did (a description shared by the Hopkinsville creatures) and also was twice as strong as a human.

Not only is she certain that the hand that grabbed her was the same as the hands on these little creatures, but hearing also that they were associated with a UFO landing nearby sparked a memory for her. Apparently, right before entering the river a week before, she and the rest of their swimming party had seen their own UFO!
