Again courtesy of The Anomalist (and Mysterious Universe), here are accounts of three strange cases from France and Germany in the 1820s, described as spontaneous combustion of the hands. They are on Garth Haslam's "Anomalies" website. My first instinct was that these stories might be hoaxes, but it seems the cases were all published soon after they happened in medical journals:
