Psychic Powers at Play in Poker?

ESP or selective memory?

I don't know the rules of Poker, but I suppose there is a theoretical optimal way to play the game if you don't get any information from your opponent's demeanour, micro damage to the cards etc.

That makes me wonder if you can rigorously (at least in a statistical sense) determine whether a player is exploiting some additional information, of whatever kind.

If that is possible, it would be to treat the game rather like an ESP experiment, and see if an expert poker player can still play at a level that is only possible using additional information - which would have to be psi-related.

A big advantage over ordinary ESP experiments, would be that the participants would have a lot of motivation to win.
