Seems like the book is not distributed in the USA, or a stupid price second hand. It’s only (approx) 13 dollars in the U.K. let me know if you want a copy, quite happy to arrange shipping to a USA address.

This includes an obituary of Carl Sargent by Trevor Harley, which obviously deals with the accusations of fraud made against Sargent by Susan Blackmore.
Harley was a student of Sargent, but writes that he is pretty sceptical about the existence of psi. He says that clearly errors were made in Sargent's Ganzfeld experiments - he emphasises the practical difficulties involved in randomisation in the pre-computer era - but apparently doesn't see how the errors could account for the observed effect size. He doesn't think it's reasonable to accuse Sargent of fraud. (Indeed, I think Blackmore was much more circumspect initially, and made explicit accusations only much later.)

As that's been put into the PDF file sideways, here's a version that's easier to read:
There's an interesting article by Juan Gimeno about the Argentine David Efron, a "forgotten pioneer" of psychical research. Gimeno writes that Efron would have headed the first university parapsychology lab in the world, in Buenos Aires. Its creation as part of one of the divisions of a new Institute of Psychology was approved in 1931, but it never materialised, as a military coup had taken place the previous year, and parapsychology didn't find favour with the conservative authorities. Efron moved into more conventional fields instead.

Not in a psi journal, but courtesy of the SPR Facebook page - an article on the "metapsychical" research of Pierre Janet (1859-1947) has been selected as the best published in the journal History of Psychology last year: As the committee to select the best History of Psychology article for Vol. 21, 2018, it is our pleasure to announce the unanimous selection of Evrard, R., Pratte, E. A., & Cardeña, E. (2018). Pierre Janet and the enchanted boundary ofpsychical research, 21(2), 100–125. We believe this article deserves the honor due to its originality and relevance, with its fresh perspective adding depth to the Janet literature. There is scarcely any work on this facet of Janet's work, despite its importance for understanding the development of his psychology. Most who are familiar with Janet’s mature theories are likely unaware of his earlier work with metapsychics, or indeed how pervasively the “enchanted boundary” interfaced with French psychology of that period. The literature review substantiating the discussion is comprehensive and cites many important primary sources. Finally, this article was simply engaging and enjoyable to read. The story of Janet’s work with Léonie and remote hypnosis, and where he went after that, is fascinating and in this article, well-told. https://psychologie-heterodoxe.blogspot....ry-of.html
