'Historically, we may regard materialism as a system of dogma set up to combat orthodox dogma...Accordingly we find that, as ancient orthodoxies disintegrate, materialism more and more gives way to scepticism.'
- Bertrand Russell
Thanks for posting this Sci, I enjoyed it more than I thought I might. When I watch a video all the way through it is a sign that I found at least bits of it interesting. I find it strange that although I don’t understand a lot of what they talk about, I still think (?) it’s important enough to listen to. Maybe I sense or feel a lot of stuff without thinking about it? I like both these characters, although I sense Koch may not be open to the same ideas that I am.
I am learning not to judge people so quickly, or even (ultimately) at all, just because they may appear rude or ignorant to me. It has been a flaw of mine in the past that I’m trying to improve upon. I enjoyed the bits about reincarnation and meat eating, mainly because I think I understood them! It’s interesting that they’re both vegan/vegetarian.
Unlike Donald Hoffman in my latest BK interview, who seems to have a trace of humility, Koch may appear a bit ‘overconfident’, but that’s the type of thing I’m learning to accept, even be happy about, rather than grudgingly accept.
Oh my God, I hate all this.
