Here's another interview with Barry Taff:

Phenomena of High Strangeness with Barry Taff

Barry E. Taff holds a doctorate in psychophysiology with a minor in biomedical engineering. He worked at UCLA's former parapsychology laboratory from 1969 through 1978. He also was investigated as a psychic subject, the results of which were published in Behavioral Neuropsychiatry. He is author of Aliens Above, Ghosts Below: Explorations of the Unknown. His website is www.BarryTaff.net.

Here he shares some personal experiences with apports, ostensible disembodied entities, and bilocation. Such phenomena are so rare and apparently impossible that most individuals simply deny them outright, even when witnessed. Yet they are consistent with the personal accounts of several guests on the New Thinking Allowed channel.

K9! at Skeptiko picked up on this appeal by Jeffrey Mishlove for volunteers to help in increasing the audience of the YouTube channel. Mostly he is asking for people to spread the word, but he also mentions the need for some technical help - for example with maintaining his website. In return, volunteers will have an opportunity to interact with him in monthly Zoom video conferences:

Quote:James Tunney, LLM, is an Irish Barrister who has lectured on legal matters throughout the world. He is a poet, a visual artist, and also author of The Mystical Accord: Sutras to Suit Our Times, Lines for Spiritual Evolution. In addition, he has written two dystopian novels -- Blue Lies September, and Ireland I Don't Recognize Who She Is. His website is http://www.jamestunney.com.

Here he describes mysticism as a quest for understanding the meaning of life and the nature of the true self. He agrees with the Perennial Philosophy tradition that the core of mysticism is, essentially, the same in all cultures. He maintains that all mystics understand that they are spiritual beings and that this awareness unites people of all cultures. He sees scientism as a cultural force that is antagonistic to mysticism.
'Historically, we may regard materialism as a system of dogma set up to combat orthodox dogma...Accordingly we find that, as ancient orthodoxies disintegrate, materialism more and more gives way to scepticism.'

Larry  There is something different about Jeffries interview with Barry Taff
Taff presents his experiences of high strangeness without much of a sense of what they mean, or how to understand them in a way that leads some where. He seems to be content with just presenting them with a WTF kind of attitude. They generally have a woman he's involved with who he invariably points out that she is beautiful, hot and kind of nuts. Mishlove try's to bring it around to parapsychological theory's which don't seem to exactly fit and it goes on like that with many apparent edits until the interview abruptly ends without the usual feel good “thanks for being with me and thank you for being with us. I'm not sure what to make of it?

Paranormal Experiences in Psychotherapy with Paul J. Leslie

Paul J. Leslie, EdD, is a psychotherapist in private practice in Aiken, South Carolina. He is professor of psychology at Aiken College. He is author of The Art of Creating a Magical Session: Key Elements for Transformative Psychotherapy, Low Country Shamanism: An Exploration of the Magical and Healing Practices of the Coastal Carolinas and Georgia, Potential Not Pathology: Helping Your Clients Transform Using Ericksonian Psychotherapy, and Shadows in the Session: The Presence of the Anomalous in Psychotherapy.

Here he describes the difficulty felt by many psychotherapists and their clients in engaging in conversations regarding paranormal experiences. Much of this is due to the fact that such experiences are also considered a symptom of psychosis and may require medication. The problem is pronounced when therapists have their own paranormal experiences within a therapy session. He shares one such extraordinary experience of his own; and reports on accounts presented by other therapists.

This was an interesting interview.

I would be interested if it would be possible to obtain a transcript of this video.

I know there are transcripts for the previous "Thinking Allowed" series: http://www.intuition.org/idxtran.htm , but I couldn't find transcripts for "New Thinking Allowed".

I don't know of any transcripts being available. The series does have a website, but I can't see any mention of transcripts there:

Thank you, Chris. I couldn't find transcripts on the website either.
The videos have auto-generated subtitles, so if you can find something that extracts subtitles from YouTube videos, then that would go some way to being a transcript. With reservations, I use savesubs when I need to, but you'll find yourself dealing with a very twitchy, pop-uppy website. There may be better options available out there.

Yes, good suggestion. I did use savesubs: https://savesubs.com/sites/download-youtube-subtitles (I couldn't find a better method), I paid them five U.S. dollars and used Adblock Plus with Chrome to try to block troublesome ads as much as possible.

I downloaded the .srt file, which gave (for the beginning of the video):

(a little better probably).

One notes here that "thinking allowed" has become "thinking aloud", an expected problem when subtitles are generated by a machine.

I shall probably spend some more time studying this interview of Paul Leslie by Jeffrey Mishlove.
