Correct. Simply because some people would find that inappropriate in the modern day and age. But if both you and Linda are comfortable with it, then that's fine; just ignore me.

Let me put it this way then: I felt more compelled to say what I said given that I am a moderator. But it wasn't said in my capacity as a moderator.

Can you explain why complementing someone on skills they might have is inappropriate? And just to be pedantic, there's no such thing as the modern day and age, only the time of now (the present). Because everyone that has ever lived believed they lived in the modern day and age (from the wonders of the wheel to taking flight) The time of now is always modern and superior in comparison to yesterdays supposedly dark age (wheel-less). (sorry that is rather off track bit it's something that winds me up)

Yes, Laird is correct. What Tim said is offensive (I wasn't offended - I don't pay attention to Tim).

However, this is not the time nor place to educate Tim or anyone else about why it is offensive, nor is it my job to do so. Anyone who cares enough to do so can find out for themselves.
